The inspiration for this piece came from interpretation. I was told a story by a friend about how he and his wife were in the woods and they were in the midst of a swarm of fireflies. And while he thought it was beautiful, his wife felt like she was being attacked by them. So, the literal meaning of this piece is one’s interpretation.
